Singer, songwriter, musician and producer, Bryce Menchaca, is successfully carving his way into the music industry. This multifaceted artist is not only a full-time student at the University of Colorado Denver majoring in the MEIS Songwriting degree program, he officially signed a Co-Publishing deal with BMG Music, Inc. as a songwriter. With already over a decade of experience in songwriting and more than a few dozen written, produced and released songs, he has accomplished more than most artists his age.
Having a guitar in his hands since he was barely two years old, and singing at perfect pitch even earlier than that, Bryce Menchaca has always known he wanted to be a musician “when he grew up”. Nothing came close to grabbing his attention throughout the years as much as music. As a toddler, he watched Bruce Springsteen “Live at Madison Square Garden” DVDs (instead of the usual children’s shows) and carried his coveted “little red guitar” everywhere.
Today, Bryce’s songwriting takes anyone who listens on a journey. His lyrics reach deep into the soul and create a potent emotion of life's complexities. Fiercely rooted in Americana-folk and blues influences, this young artist creates the sound of a poetic old soul, written through the eyes of youthful observations and experiences. Along with songwriting, Bryce has extraordinary skills in guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), piano and vocals.
His released albums, Sense of Discovery, Doomed Poet and Alone at Last Alone it Seems, as well as Tell September/All the Time highlight his ability to navigate layers of acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, piano and percussion in such a way you will want to listen over and over. Writing is a constant. You will rarely find Bryce without written notes in his pockets, on his phone, on paper napkins or in his many journals. He will tell you there is always a story, a song, a poem, a melody or a lyric waiting to be discovered.
What does he listen to? Bryce’s playlist dives deep into stripped down songwriter recordings as well as indie rock/folk, rhythm and blues, soul, alternative rock, pop and even some jazz manouche. He supports local talent, live music and loves to collaborate with other musicians.
Bryce’s hard work has not gone unnoticed. He recently received an award for Best Score in the film ”Destination Unknown” from the 2020 FTTG Awards. Bryce was the recipient of the Sam Baird Scholarship 2019 from The San Antonio Blues Society. He was also honored to be named Ambassador Musician for the Copper Mountain Guitar Town Music Festival for 4 consecutive years. His biggest honor is being signed as a songwriter at BMG Music, Inc. and having the freedom to continue to follow his passion.
There is a lot more to come from Bryce Menchaca. His passion for music is undeniable. This amazing young talent is moving forward at full speed in the music industry. He has no plans on slowing down as he continues to transfer his emotions into lyrics and his life into songs.
